چکیده

The HOX genes are key determinants of cellular identity both in early development and in the renewal and differentiation of adult blood cells. Although a number of studies have examined the expression of individual HOX genes in defined blood cell lineages, we have undertaken a comprehensive analysis of HOX gene expression in resting and activated lymphocytic and monocytic subpopulations. This has revealed distinct patterns of expression between different cell types and resting and activated states. O-21: Differential Expression and Epigenetic Pattern of HOX Family Genes in Cumulus Cells of Mature MII Oocytes from Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Background Ovarian tissue cryopreservation represents a promising strategy to preserve the ovarian function in cancer patients. It is usually performed by slow freezing/rapid thawing (SF/RT). Recent studies emphasize an ultrarapid cryopreservation procedure, vitrification/warming (V/W), since it might prevent damages due to ice crystal formation. Comparative studies between the cryopreservation...

Hox cluster polarity in early transcriptional availability: a high order regulatory level of clustered Hox genes in the mouse

The molecular mechanism underlying the 3' to 5' polarity of induction of mouse Hox genes is still elusive. While relief from a cluster-encompassing repression was shown to lead to all Hoxd genes being expressed like the 3'most of them, Hoxd1 (Kondo and Duboule, 1999), the molecular basis of initial activation of this 3'most gene, is not understood yet. We show that, already before primitive str...

O-28: Role of HOX Family Related Genes in Pain Generation of Endometriosis Patients

Background Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease, can cause severe pelvic pain. Studies demonstrated the presence of sensory nerve fibers in endometrium of endometriosis patient. Nevertheless, no information is available on mechanisms of sensory nerve formation in eutopic or ectopic lesions. Since HOX genes have important roles in both reproductive tract and nerve growth, we decided t...

Differential genes expression analysis of invasive aspergillosis: a bioinformatics study based on mRNA/microRNA

Invasive aspergillosis is a severe opportunistic infection with high mortality in immunocompromised patients. Recently, the roles of microRNAs have been taken into consideration in the immune system and inflammatory responses. Using bioinformatics approaches, we aimed to study the microRNAs related to invasive aspergillosis to understand the molecular pathways involved in the disease pathogenes...

Analysis of Hox-4.5 and Hox-3.6 expression during newt limb regeneration: differential regulation of paralogous Hox genes suggest different roles for members of different Hox clusters.

Adult urodele amphibians can regenerate their limbs and tail. Based on their roles in other developing systems, Hox genes are strong candidates for genes that play a role in regulating pattern formation during regeneration. There are four homologous clusters of Hox genes in vertebrate genomes. We isolated cDNA clones of two newt homeobox genes from homologous positions within two Hox clusters; ...
